GENERAL POLICIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Admission to Southern Isabela Academy, Inc. is both a right and a privilege. Students who meet the admission requirements will be given the chance to enroll.
- REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
- Original Form 138 (Report Card) or Form 137 (Permanent Record)
- Certificate of Good Moral Character (for transferees)
- Placement test for first year and transferees
- Photocopy of Birth Certificate
- Down payment of at least P1000.00
- ENROLMENT PROCEDURES
- FIRST YEAR
a. Take the placement test scheduled by the Office of Counseling and Guidance.
b. Get the test result from the OCG.
c. Secure registration form from the registrar’s office and fill it out properly.
d. Go back to the Registrar for academic evaluation and for approval to enroll officially.
e. Pay the designated school fees to the Cashier.
- TRANSFEREES
a. Take the placement test scheduled by the Student Affairs Office and undergo interview.
b. Present a certification of good moral character from the school last attended to the OCG Coordinator who shall interview and recommend him for enrolment.
c. Submit Report Card and other school credentials to the Registrar.
d. Proceed to the Principal for final approval of the enrolment.
e. Pay to the Cashier the payment of required school fees.
- OLD STUDENTS
a. Secure registration form, academic evaluation, report card and endorsement for enrolment from the previous section adviser.
b. Go to the Registrar for enrolment.
c. Proceed to the Cashier for the payment of school fees.
d. Dropping from school without reason (as irregularity, failing mark, suspension, dismissal) may be reasons for non-admission.
1. Students with three units failure during the previous school year should repeat the same year level.
2. Students who failed in one or two subjects or an equivalent of one or two units should go for summer classes or he may not be admitted to Southern Isabela Academy the following school year. He should present his summer grades before his admission.
- FEES AND PAYMENT
The basic tuition fee rate and miscellaneous special fees are posted every year. All financial matters specified by the student accounts office are settled therein. The payment may be made in cash for the whole academic year or by cropping or by installment.
- Examination Permit
Only students who have paid school fees due as of the date of the examination will be issued test permits.
- Promissory Letter
In special cases when the student is unable to pay due to financial constraints, a promissory letter duly signed by the parent/guardian submitted a day before the test is allowed by the principal.
- REFUND OF FEES
A student who transfers or otherwise withdraws in writing within two weeks after the beginning of classes and who has already paid the pertinent tuition and other school fees in full or for any length longer than one month may be charged 10% of the total amount due for the terms if he withdraws within the first week of classes, or 20% if within the second week of classes, regardless of whether or not he has actually attended classes.
The student may be charged all the school fees in full if he withdraws anytime after the second week of classes. However, if transfer or withdrawal is due to a justifiable reason, the student shall be charged the pertinent fees only up to and including the last month of attendance. (Manual of Registration for Private Schools 7th Ed., 1970, par. 137)
1. 80% of the total amount due for the term within one week after registration
2. 50% of the total amount due for the term within three weeks after registration
3. no refund may be allowed four weeks after registration.
- EXAMINATIONS
There are ten major examinations in a school year: First Monthly Examinations, First Preliminary Examinations, First Periodical Examinations, Second Preliminary Examinations, Second Periodical Examinations, Third Monthly Examinations, Third Preliminary Examinations, Third Periodical Examinations, Fourth Preliminary Examinations and Fourth Periodical Examinations.
- Missed Examinations
A student who misses a major examination automatically obtains a raw score of zero (0) unless his failure to take the test was due to an excused absence.
- Special Examinations
Special examination may be given to a student who missed a major examination provided the student submits an excuse letter duly signed by the parent/guardian and a test permit validated by the Cashier. It must be taken not later than three school days.
